Over a lifetime of studying the body, legendary physical trainer Joseph Pilates developed a system of original exercises he called 'Contrology'. Today, we know it simply as Pilates. Focusing on the "Powerhouse" or "core" (deep abdominals, lower back, and buttocks) to stabilize and strengthen the rest of the body, he invented and developed special apparatus to further strengthen that core connection.

Joseph Pilates also designated a specific order and progression for the exercises within his full body exercise program. At Pure Pilates, we strictly adhere to these principles; insuring that you move through each exercise safely, at your individual skill level. This carefully designed workout routine, combining apparatus and matwork, is the key to achieving the greatest possible results.

Pure Pilates is a fully equipped studio, using top of the line Gratz™ Pilates equipment. Each apparatus is an important tool to help the body feel the work more deeply, and often, with more ease. The physical result is stretch and strength, with control.
